Who are Celtian? A band that has redefined Spanish folk metal
Celtian was born in 2017, the brainchild of the flautist Diego Palacio, a prodigious musician who began his career playing rock and Celtic music covers on YouTube under the name of Diego GaiaHis talent caught the attention of key figures in Spanish metal, to the point that he was invited to replace the flautist of Mägo de Oz live when he was only 19 years old.
That was the seed of a project that would soon become a full band.
???? The beginnings: an instrumental project with a Celtic soul
Celtian's first album, The Druid's Awaiting (2018) was a completely instrumental work based on traditional Irish melodies fused with metal. This work already showcased the essence of the project: a blend of virtuosity, sensitivity, and epic grandeur.
(I.e. The arrival of Xana Lavey: the birth of the Celtic sound
At the end of 2018, the incorporation of Xana LaVey As lead singer, she transformed the project into a well-established band with its own distinct identity. Her powerful and luminous voice became the group's defining characteristic.
With this new lineup, Celtian launched In Fairyland (2019), produced by Txus di Fellatio (Mägo de Oz), an album that mixed powerful riffs, orchestral arrangements and a fantastic atmosphere that immediately connected with the folk metal and symphonic metal audience.
⚔️ Consolidation and artistic maturity
In 2021 came Paths of Legend, an album that confirmed his musical growth and his ability to move people with lyrics inspired by mythology, nature and fantasy.
