Known for his vocal precision, his ability to improvise, and his daily presence on RAC1 version, Edu Mutante He has established himself as one of the most complete comedians on the Catalan scene.
His show combines imitations, stand-up comedy, improvisation, and a relentless stage rhythm.
In this interview we explore his vision of humor, his working method and what the public can expect from his upcoming performances (See article Upcoming performances of Edu Mutante)

You're starting 2026 with several shows in a row and a very loyal audience. How are you experiencing this moment in your career? With ease and great enthusiasm after 24 years on the road? In the end you work to get here and, well, seizing the moment, because this profession is what it is and you never know when the blow will come (yes, I'm pessimistic because the world made me this way... and self-employed hahaha).
“Best regards” is constantly evolving. What new features are you incorporating in this latest update? Right now we're talking about Christmas and all that.
The show has a core theme that makes up 75% of the monologue, and then there's another 25% that's always current events. Right now it's Christmas, and in a few weeks it'll change to broccoli, boiled carrots, the gym, quitting smoking, etc… or whatever else comes up in the world, because this never stops.
Your impersonations are widely recognized, but your improvisation also makes all the difference. How do you balance technique and spontaneity on stage? I consider myself a bar comedian, a café-theater comedian, a comedian who works in small venues where the audience is very close. I've always enjoyed interacting with people; they like it when you crack a joke with someone, or with a waiter, waitress, or waiter... From day one I saw that I was relatively good at it, and it's also part of my DNA on stage.
There's a lot of improv in the show because that's what we grew up with and learned to do comedy in small venues.
In “Versió RAC1” you work live, at a fast pace and with no room for error. What does radio bring you on an artistic and personal level? Phew, radio is my passion. I couldn't live without doing radio.
On an artistic level, it teaches you to work as a team, to fine-tune the joke to make it the best it can be, to pay attention to everything that happens in order to stir things up... and then, on stage, that gives you incredible experience when it comes to improvising much faster.

Are there any new impersonations or characters you're preparing to surprise audiences this January? Always! But... they should pay and come, because I'm self-employed and I have VAT to pay hahaha.
The Teatre Muntaner has almost become your home. What is it about this venue that makes your shows work so well there? As we were saying earlier: I'm a bar comedian, and the Teatre Muntaner has a bar, hahaha. It's a small, very cozy theater, with the audience close by, and it helps create an atmosphere like the one we had 24 years ago when we started out. And that's ultimately what people like: that they feel comfortable.
What would you say to someone who has never seen your show and is thinking about coming for the first time? Where has he been all these years?
What inspires you today to continue creating humor after so many years in the business? It's a philosophy of life. I can't go a day without making jokes... I wish the same were true for sex (or so my girlfriend says).
Edu Mutante It faces January with a show that is sharper, freer, and more alive than ever.
Their performances in Pineda de Mar, Santa Coloma de Queralt, and especially at the Teatre Muntaner in Barcelona, promise to be one of the month's major cultural highlights. In a comedy scene where surprising audiences is increasingly difficult, Edu Mutante He achieves this with a unique blend of technique, intuition, and a connection with the audience that only the greats possess.
If there's one goal to achieve in 2026, it's this: to see Edu Mutante live and let laughter mark the start of the year.
