🌧️ Barcelona on alert for heavy rain tonight, Saturday, July 12, 2025
The city of Barcelona is on red alert for torrential rain starting at 21:00 p.m. today, according to a statement from the Generalitat de Catalunya Civil Protection Agency. The warning has been sent directly to the mobile phones of residents in the regions of Barcelonès, Baix Llobregat, Garraf, and Vallès Occidental, urging the population not to go outside except for strictly necessary reasons.
The weather situation is marked due to the arrival of a DANA (Isolated High-Level Depression), which has caused water accumulations exceeding 150 liters per square meter in some areas of the metropolitan area. The storm is expected to intensify overnight, with the risk of flooding, landslides, and sudden rises in streams and ravines, even when it is not raining.
